Don’t tell a child that they are smart,
tell them they did an excellent job.
Don’t tell a child that they are intelligent,
tell them how proud you are of their hard work.
Don’t tell a child that they are a genius,
tell them how impressed you are with their success.
Don’t make a child believe that their success is based on an innate quality,
Make them believe that hard work and dedication leads to success.
If you tell a child they are any of these things;
Smart, intelligent, genius
They will think that they cannot fail
And when they do?
It will feel like the world has ended,
Like something is wrong with them.
It took me a long time to learn that there isn’t,
in fact, I’m still learning.
Victim Services of York Region is looking to host the “Forget Me Not” groups for those persons affected by homicide and suicide (two separate groups). Let us help people remember the good and restore hope. Your vote counts!
Hello followers, I know a lot of you are fandom driven or graphic driven in your following of my blog but I’m sure you’ve noticed a lot of my activist posts as well. Today I’d like to get a signal going on a cause that is more local for me. A family friend of mine is campaigning to get funding for some help groups through Victim Services in our region. It takes two minutes to register and vote (you can use email or facebook). I would love if we could signal boost this, lets get some support for the surviving victims affected by homicide and suicide in York Region.

There will always be evil in this world, you cannot have one without the other but I believe despite everything there is a hell of a lot more good than there is evil, evil’s just more noticeable at times because it hurts.
